After this course, you will be able to contribute effectively within a peer group, including communicating to make arrangements, expressing opinions, and giving presentations. You will meet with a group of students from various levels each week for 30 mins. During this time, you will practice having debates and giving presentations. 

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to: 

  • Participate effectively in a conversation by expressing their opinions and ideas and understanding the opinions and ideas of others.
  • Provide explanations and arguments for their opinions.
  • Lead the group by Inviting others to join in the conversation and giving announcements to the group.  
  • Give a straightforward presentation on your chosen topic and take follow-up questions.

 Course Expectations

In order to obtain the English Group Badge , you must: 

  • Attend the entire 30 minute meeting each week.
  • Participate in each debate (your group leader will evaluate your performance).
  • Prepare one 5 minute presentation on a topic of your choice.  
  • Complete the weekly reflection quiz.

The first step to speaking with confidence is choosing the right words for every situation. In this module, you'll learn how to express yourself more effectively by mastering specific expressions and vocabulary. Gain skills in initiating conversations, sharing opinions, agreeing, and politely disagreeing with others.

4. Clear Thinking Techniques

Following our vocabulary tips, "Clear Thinking Techniques" will help you refine your ability to organize and express your ideas clearly. Learn practical methods to structure your thoughts and communicate more effectively, enhancing your confidence and impact in conversations.
